My Approach

My approach is for anyone who is interested in creating change and diving deeper into personal development. I help individuals understand their life story, make sense of challenges, and live through their feelings. I specialize in building self-esteem and identity, relationship skills, navigating difficult emotions, loss, mindfulness/nervous system skills, and finding a deeper engagement with life and community. I strive to provide a safe and inclusive space for all humans including the LGBTQ+, body positive, and sex positive communities.

I have always been fascinated by human resiliency. By connecting with "what is" and providing compassion to natural human behaviors, I offer a platform where clients are heard, supported, and viewed as whole. I too am not flawless, never been, and have been swayed by life stressors, ruminating thoughts, and profound loss. It is from this place, a human place, we can acknowledge the truth of what is happening at a soul level.

I have coached hundreds of clients, including clients from over ten different countries of varying racial and ethnic backgrounds. I still am not an expert and strive to remain curious about your individual experience. Through the decades I have done an immense amount of personal coaching and therapy, with reflection, meditation, and movement as my underpinnings. Not only do I bring the western understandings of cognitive and dialectical behavioral therapy, I weave my two decades of eastern studies alongside the works somatic therapy to offer an alternative to traditional approaches.

My personal practices allow me to bring a stable and regulated nervous system into our sessions so that it creates a safe environment for you during our sessions. My style helps unearth the magic of life that is already within.

Yoga & Somatic Therapy: A mind body approach to processing feelings, emotions, and experiences. We connect to the physical body through mindful experiences, breath work, and yoga exercises. This bottom up approach can be one of the safest approaches to support individuals with complex trauma, now recognized by the APA (American Psychiatric Association)

LGBTQ+ Affirmative Therapy:  Offers a safe, affirming space to explore the unique challenges faced by LGBTQ+ individuals, including discrimination, family dynamics, identity exploration, and coming out. This style of counseling focuses on building resilience, self-acceptance, and empowerment while addressing the emotional impact of societal stigma and fostering authentic self-expression.

Interpersonal Therapy (IPT): This evidence based approach focuses on improving communication patterns and relationship dynamics to relieve symptoms of depression, anxiety, and other mood-related concerns. By addressing key areas such as grief, life transitions, conflict, and social isolation, IPT helps clients build healthier, more supportive connections in their lives. It can help navigate the difficulties of life with more grace.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT): Is a skills-based, evidence-backed approach designed to help individuals manage intense emotions, build healthy relationships, and develop greater self-awareness. Combining mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness, DBT empowers clients to create balance and lasting change in their lives.

Coaching Skills: Coaching helps turn reflection into action. Coaching highlights the ability to create practices and focuses on what skills you can add to your tool belt. From time management, communication skills, life transitions. Eventually this creates a way to navigate life with more ease.
